The second of the Luc Bertrand novellas is available for preorder! It will be released on January 2, 2017. Here's the cover blurb:
Luc Bertrand's old life as an orphan is long behind him. He's been adopted by the strange Auguste Fosse, who has promised Luc a special education. The academy trains assassins. Determined to get revenge on whoever killed his family, this school is the perfect place for him to train for his life's work. All isn't roses, though. The other students don't approve of Luc's arrival. He's too old, and the competition for Fosse's attention and tutelage is fierce. Having enemies who are being trained to kill can be dangerous, and Luc is years behind them in skills. You can preorder it now through Amazon. Several months ago, author John G. Walker, author of The Statford Chronicles, approached me with an offer to write a spinoff series set in his universe. When he told me he wanted me to write the story of Luc Bertrand, the Head of the Assassin's Guild, I was floored. Luc is my favorite character, after all. I opted to write a series of novellas, telling Luc's story, and the first one is scheduled for release on September 26, 2016! It is available for preorder right now, at Amazon! Here is the amazing cover, designed by Starla Huchton. Isn't it staggering? I've been staring at it for weeks and can't get enough of it!
Where will this book be available? On Amazon.com, initially. Once more of the series is available, I have plans for releasing the novellas in bundles, perhaps in paper form. But that's down the road. Hi, everyone! So, yeah, I've been failing again at keeping things updated here. Mostly, that's because there isn't so much happening here as there are with The Melting Potcast and my Chain Nerd stuff. I'm still shopping one of my novels around, looking for an agent or publisher, and there are some hopes for 2016 there. But I digress.
I'm posting today to tell you about the launch of The Ed Greenwood Group (TEGG). This is a massive shared world publishing project headed by the Archmage himself, Ed Greenwood. To keep it short, at least 13 different world settings, all with books, games, artifacts, and tons of other goodies planned to release in the next years, decades. It's a gigantic scope of productivity that will be coming out, and TODAY is the public launch of information. So head on down to Onder Librum and check it out. You can already preorder the very first book in the first setting! Why is this such a bit announcement, and for me? Well, that's because I am part of the creatives involved in TEGG! That's right! I have two (count them, TWO!) books in progress with TEGG. These will (tentatively) be released in 2018 and 2021. I'll put out a little more information on my impending books in the future. For now, go check out the Onder Librum site. I guarantee you'll find something that intrigues you. Okay, I really am going to keep my word about updating more. Here's a little news.
My story, "I Didn't Brew It" has been released on MedusPod, in their 9th episode. D. E. Medus did a great job performing and producing it, and if you're not listening to his podcast, go give it a shot! Last summer, the writing and podcasting world lost P. G. Holyfield, and what a loss that was. A number of other people in the writing/podcast community have banded together to raise money for his daughters and for research into the aggressive form of cancer that took him from us, and among those efforts is the erotica anthology Coming Together: Outside the Box. Proceeds from sale of this anthology will benefit The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. My story, "A New Man", is part of the anthology. Finally, Memorial Weekend, my Melting Potcast cohost Erin Kazmark and I will be at Balticon 2015! If you plan to be there, find us for conversation, a game of Cards Against Humanity or Dixit, or to grab one of the Melting Potcast goodie bags we'll have with us! Look forward to seeing you there! Hey there, readers. I cannot believe it's been since August since I updated this site. That's a terrible failing of mine, and I apologize. Both my blog and the website for The Melting Potcast have been updated regularly, and I have no excuse to let this site go unmanned.
So, news. First of all, I and my Melting Potcast cohost Erin Kazmark will be at Balticon 2015. I'm afraid I won't have many (if any) paper copies of my books, but I will bring what I have. We WILL have Melting Potcast swag to give away, including badge ribbons, and I'll have a swath of Surprise Hannibal cards to spread around. Check out #surprisehannibal on twitter to get an idea what that's all about. Other news. Both Empeddigo and Mere Acquaintances are now available on amazon.com for your kindle needs. The price is $0.99 for either. Keep in mind you can still get Mere Acquaintances for free on Smashwords, or you can read it from my blog in its original form. Smashwords and blog links are on the Library page of this website. Thanks for being patient with me while I failed to update this site. I will do better. I have no reason not to. See you at Balticon! For those of you who don't already know, the first week of August (still in progress) has been a one of milestones. I just turned 30 (yay), but more importantly, August 1 is the day I launched my podcast, The Melting Potcast. Hop over to the website and check out the first episode featuring Hole Card by Scott Roche!
The other momentous event is that the very first podcast I started listening to, The Roundtable Podcast, has relaunched, and who is the guest writer on their return episode? None other than yours truly! Dave Robison, Moses Siregar, and Cat Rambo brainstorm a novel idea of mine in a flurry of epic writerliness. You can get the episode here. Well, the title says it all. I will be at Balticon 2014, along with my illustrious co-author, Erin M. Pruett. I'm not doing any panels or readings, but I will be around, attending, and I will have a limited number of paper copies of both Empeddigo and The Trials of Hallac with me. Hope to see you there!
![]() The project formerly known as The Blogject, now officially titled Mere Acquaintances, is finally available in its entirety as an ebook! You can get Mere Acquaintances for free through Smashwords for your Kindle, Nook, or whatever ereader you favor. Pick up your copy now! "Five patients at Ighosia Falls Institution have multiple personality disorder. Every one of those alternate personalities is delusional. Who is who in the real world, and where have the delusions taken their alternate identities? What is the mysterious Sunsetter they keep talking about? And why is the world collapsing around them?" Awesome author Dan Absalonson is putting up a series of blog posts regarding great memories of reading books. These are being released in both text and audio. Check out my guest post on his blog here.
