<![CDATA[A. F. Grappin - Home]]>Mon, 28 Aug 2017 15:38:43 -0700Weebly<![CDATA[Project Updates]]>Mon, 28 Aug 2017 21:36:25 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/project-updatesI don't update nearly as often as I should, but I hope to remedy that going forward. I'm working on figuring out a way to get project progress bars on the side of my homepage, but for now, here's what's been going on lately:

Lesson 4, Assassin's Lover, is currently available for preorder and will be released officially on September 4, 2017.
Lesson 5 is currently at the editor awaiting notes. Once that's done and back in my hands, I'll make changes. It should release in January 2018
Lesson 6 is undergoing first draft writing. One chapter written so far.

So far, the Deadly Studies series have been released only in ebook form. However, once Lesson 5 is released next year, I plan to release a paper version of Lessons 1-5, so keep your eyes out for that!

I am working on an audio version! No ETA as of now.

Criminal is a fantasy courtroom drama, a project I wrote back in 2010 and finally found a publisher for. Stitched Smile Publications will be releasing it within the next year. More info as it comes.
Also, I am currently working on a sequel for it. I'm one chapter in.

I am currently working on several projects for The Ed Greenwood Group that I cannot talk about yet.

I will be submitting a short story to Cold Reads LIVE, a youtube live show that I've had the honor to be a voice actor on several times. More info as it arises.

An audio dramedy I co-wrote with the astounding Michael Corley is currently in its recording phase!

I finished the outline of a sci-fi horror novel. No ETA on when I'll begin writing it, but it's waiting for me.
I'll be on the ARCHIVOS Brainstorms sometime soon to workshop another novel (Faithful) I've been wanting to write for a few years.

<![CDATA[Cover and Title reveal for Deadly Studies, Lesson 4]]>Tue, 15 Aug 2017 01:44:30 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/cover-and-title-reveal-for-deadly-studies-lesson-4It's time for Deadly Studies, Lesson 4, the next installment in the Luc Bertrand books. The title for this novella is

Below is the blurb from the back of the book. Preorders are in the works, but the book will launch live on Amazon on September 4, 2017!

Luc Bertrand has survived assassin school, fulfilled his first contract, and now been shipped off to Vienna, Austria, to work in a guildhall. Surrounded by other assassins, he is far from the place the Knights Templar destroyed his life. With a whole country between them, perhaps he can settle down and live a normal life.

Normal for an assassin, anyway.

Before long, Luc finds himself in a relationship, tormented by all new problems. What does he buy as a Christmas present? How can he justify keeping his secrets?

Now that he has let someone into his heart, what if the Templars come back?
<![CDATA[Balticon 51, Memorial weekend 2017]]>Sun, 23 Apr 2017 21:26:52 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/balticon-51-memorial-weekend-2017I will be at Balticon as a guest May 27-30, 2017, at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore, MA! I will be sharing a table in the dealer room with a number of other amazing authors, so come by and check out paper copies of Starsigns as well as works by Terry Mixon, Chris Lester, Charlie Brown, John Walker, and others! I can't wait to see you!

No paper copies of any of the Luc Bertrand books yet. I have plans for those novellas that should come into play next year. I will have bookmarks with the covers of Luc 1 and 2, though, so come by and grab one!
<![CDATA[Luc Bertrand: Assassin's Mark is (almost) available for pre-order!]]>Sun, 23 Apr 2017 21:21:50 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/luc-bertrand-assassins-mark-is-almost-available-for-pre-orderThis post is a little premature, but book three of my Deadly Studies series, Luc Bertrand: Assassin's Mark, has been submitted to Amazon and will be available for preorder in just a few days! It will be released Monday, May 22nd!

Now... look at this amazing cover by the phenomenal Starla Huchton. Look at it!
<![CDATA[Luc Bertrand: Assassin's Rival is available for preorder!]]>Tue, 22 Nov 2016 22:27:16 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/luc-bertrand-assassins-rival-is-available-for-preorderThe second of the Luc Bertrand novellas is available for preorder! It will be released on January 2, 2017. Here's the cover blurb:

Luc Bertrand's old life as an orphan is long behind him. He's been adopted by the strange Auguste Fosse, who has promised Luc a special education. The academy trains assassins. Determined to get revenge on whoever killed his family, this school is the perfect place for him to train for his life's work. All isn't roses, though. The other students don't approve of Luc's arrival. He's too old, and the competition for Fosse's attention and tutelage is fierce. Having enemies who are being trained to kill can be dangerous, and Luc is years behind them in skills.

You can preorder it now through Amazon.
<![CDATA[Cover Reveal- Luc Bertrand: Assassin's Victim]]>Fri, 26 Aug 2016 18:37:32 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/cover-reveal-luc-bertrand-assassins-victimSeveral months ago, author John G. Walker, author of The Statford Chronicles, approached me with an offer to write a spinoff series set in his universe. When he told me he wanted me to write the story of Luc Bertrand, the Head of the Assassin's Guild, I was floored. Luc is my favorite character, after all.

I opted to write a series of novellas, telling Luc's story, and the first one is scheduled for release on September 26, 2016!

It is available for preorder right now, at Amazon!

Here is the amazing cover, designed by Starla Huchton.
Isn't it staggering? I've been staring at it for weeks and can't get enough of it!

Where will this book be available? On Amazon.com, initially. Once more of the series is available, I have plans for releasing the novellas in bundles, perhaps in paper form. But that's down the road.
<![CDATA[HUGE Announcement- The Ed Greenwood Group]]>Mon, 19 Oct 2015 23:30:00 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/huge-announcement-the-ed-greenwood-groupHi, everyone! So, yeah, I've been failing again at keeping things updated here. Mostly, that's because there isn't so much happening here as there are with The Melting Potcast and my Chain Nerd stuff. I'm still shopping one of my novels around, looking for an agent or publisher, and there are some hopes for 2016 there. But I digress.

I'm posting today to tell you about the launch of The Ed Greenwood Group (TEGG). This is a massive shared world publishing project headed by the Archmage himself, Ed Greenwood. To keep it short, at least 13 different world settings, all with books, games, artifacts, and tons of other goodies planned to release in the next years, decades. It's a gigantic scope of productivity that will be coming out, and TODAY is the public launch of information. So head on down to Onder Librum and check it out. You can already preorder the very first book in the first setting!

Why is this such a bit announcement, and for me? Well, that's because I am part of the creatives involved in TEGG! That's right! I have two (count them, TWO!) books in progress with TEGG. These will (tentatively) be released in 2018 and 2021.

I'll put out a little more information on my impending books in the future. For now, go check out the Onder Librum site. I guarantee you'll find something that intrigues you.
<![CDATA[Update: Podcast Appearance, Anthology, and Balticon]]>Sat, 02 May 2015 14:49:07 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/update-podcast-appearance-anthology-and-balticonOkay, I really am going to keep my word about updating more. Here's a little news.

My story, "I Didn't Brew It" has been released on MedusPod, in their 9th episode. D. E. Medus did a great job performing and producing it, and if you're not listening to his podcast, go give it a shot!

Last summer, the writing and podcasting world lost P. G. Holyfield, and what a loss that was. A number of other people in the writing/podcast community have banded together to raise money for his daughters and for research into the aggressive form of cancer that took him from us, and among those efforts is the erotica anthology Coming Together: Outside the Box. Proceeds from sale of this anthology will benefit
The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. My story, "A New Man", is part of the anthology.

Finally, Memorial Weekend, my Melting Potcast cohost Erin Kazmark and I will be at Balticon 2015! If you plan to be there, find us for conversation, a game of Cards Against Humanity or Dixit, or to grab one of the Melting Potcast goodie bags we'll have with us! Look forward to seeing you there!
<![CDATA[I've been uncommunicative here, and I apologize]]>Sun, 29 Mar 2015 02:48:42 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/ive-been-uncommunicative-here-and-i-apologizeHey there, readers. I cannot believe it's been since August since I updated this site. That's a terrible failing of mine, and I apologize. Both my blog and the website for The Melting Potcast have been updated regularly, and I have no excuse to let this site go unmanned.

So, news. First of all, I and my Melting Potcast cohost Erin Kazmark will be at Balticon 2015. I'm afraid I won't have many (if any) paper copies of my books, but I will bring what I have. We WILL have Melting Potcast swag to give away, including badge ribbons, and I'll have a swath of Surprise Hannibal cards to spread around. Check out #surprisehannibal on twitter to get an idea what that's all about.

Other news. Both Empeddigo and Mere Acquaintances are now available on amazon.com for your kindle needs. The price is $0.99 for either. Keep in mind you can still get Mere Acquaintances for free on Smashwords, or you can read it from my blog in its original form. Smashwords and blog links are on the Library page of this website.

Thanks for being patient with me while I failed to update this site. I will do better. I have no reason not to.

See you at Balticon!
<![CDATA[This is a Big Week!]]>Tue, 05 Aug 2014 22:50:31 GMThttp://afgrappin.com/home/this-is-a-big-weekFor those of you who don't already know, the first week of August (still in progress) has been a one of milestones. I just turned 30 (yay), but more importantly, August 1 is the day I launched my podcast, The Melting Potcast. Hop over to the website and check out the first episode featuring Hole Card by Scott Roche!

The other momentous event is that the very first podcast I started listening to, The Roundtable Podcast, has relaunched, and who is the guest writer on their return episode? None other than yours truly! Dave Robison, Moses Siregar, and Cat Rambo brainstorm a novel idea of mine in a flurry of epic writerliness. You can get the episode here.
